I like the ornie! I've thought about making that one myself. I just did the January LHN cottage on too light of material and lost most of the snowflakes. I should have used a slightly variegated like several people have suggested.Nancy Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10340982598116173651noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7038299040227109406.post-58032190256538964722011-12-14T19:46:09.446-06:002011-12-14T19:46:09.446-06:00I would do the white snowflakes in an icy blue col...I would do the white snowflakes in an icy blue color. I think that would show up nicely. And I LOVE your wreath. It's darling! Would you mind taking a piccy of the ornies you used and showing them on your blog? I would love to see them!mdgtjuliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06665956958250175869noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7038299040227109406.post-58664108293960778332011-12-13T21:40:18.460-06:002011-12-13T21:40:18.460-06:00Very cute Minnie wreath! I posted a pic in this post on my blog. ;) http://craftyimaginingsbyjen.blogspot.com/2011/12/disney-trips-photos-and-special.html

That design you are doing now is pretty and I agree about the issue with white on white. To make things easier, I would use one or all of the existing colors you are using now. They all look great. :)

JenJennifer M.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07321236895970913325noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7038299040227109406.post-59504720935579259582011-12-13T19:38:19.725-06:002011-12-13T19:38:19.725-06:00I used to use bobbins and swore off them becuase I...I used to use bobbins and swore off them becuase I didn't like the kinks they left in the floss. I use floss bags now and like them a lot better. I've even gotten into the habit of cutting the floss to length as soon as I pull the skein because putting them in floss bags let me have everything pre-cut, which is really convenient.

For your snowflakes and swirlies, how about an icy blue (like the colors they often use for shading in ice.) Something like DMC 3756, 3753 or 3752? The other thought I had was a varigated. I've got the remanents of Weeks Dye Works Sky (2111), which shades between blue and white that might work. And if you want lavender, what about Weeks Dye Works 2316 (Iris)?Debbie Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17666108691709100004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7038299040227109406.post-57938669788916011712011-12-12T20:00:08.908-06:002011-12-12T20:00:08.908-06:00I can't wait to see your progress on Victorian...I can't wait to see your progress on Victorian Winter-you stitch faster than I do so I am sure you will pass me in no time at all- maybe it will prompt me to get my bum in gear to stitch it. I do all of mine by hand. I have several boxes full - it's so nice to have them all on their bobbins! I think my best suggestion would be to pick a good movie, get a cup of coffee and just wind and wind and wind. That's what I usually do.

I absolutely love your new pattern. I've not seen that one before. I think using a lilac color would look good. I can see what you are saying about white on white getting lost. Just my opinion.
Betty in AZ (ILCS)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7038299040227109406.post-16610131043821594732011-12-12T14:20:06.685-06:002011-12-12T14:20:06.685-06:00Your Minnie Mouse wreath is adorable! It goes slow when you do the first row (because I want the floss rows tight against each other) but after that, it takes me less than 30 seconds to wind a skein. Are you attaching it to the floss box before trying to wind? What don't you like about it?

I think a lavendar would look good with your ornament, or one of the colors already in the chart. Or what about a light pale blue?Mearihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18080474930910254503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7038299040227109406.post-21984953018656903992011-12-12T03:11:39.348-06:002011-12-12T03:11:39.348-06:00I couldn't use the floss winder either! I bought a bag of all the DMC colors from Ebay and it took me a week to roll them by myself, but I am so proud of them all nice and pretty! You won't regret it! I bought the DMC stickers and used them, but I also used a Sharpie to write the colors on the bobbins just in case the stickers came off. I put them in numerical order and that's the only thing that bothers me, I'd rather them be in color order. Good luck!Keebleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13297218097725284142noreply@blogger.com
