10 Book Challenge and the Olympic Reading Challenge

Out ten book challenge ended last night. I was excited to see so many people who participated in sitting a goal to read 10 books. I have heard from: Karin, Carol, Susan, CJ, and Betty. Did anyone else finish??? Let me know so I can draw and send you the prize!!
I am setting up another challege for the 2010 year. Since this is the year of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver BC, we will have a Bronze, Silver and Gold Level. There will be no prize for this challenge. You keep a record of your books in your notebook. blog, etc.Since this is a year long challenge...you do not have to preselect your books!! Email me when you have FINISHED your Challenge. To win a reading medal just pick a level:
Bronze: 25 Books in 2010
Silver: 50 Books in 2010
Gold: 100 Books in 2010
I can't wait to see who participates!!!

I'm sorry that I forgot to let you know that I finished. I posted about it on my blog back in October: http://lotuspond.silentblue.net/blog/?p=1426

It turned out that I hardly read anything I planned to read, but I did discover some great books.

I love the Olympic Reading Challenge idea. I usually average about 50 books a year. I wonder how I will do this year.

Count me in! :) Sounds like a blast and we probably will end up giving each other a good list of books to read. I'm going to try and blog on the books I read this year in my blog. Happy New Year Vickie and Mark!

Yes, I finished the Ten Book Challenge in October.

http://threadsofdesire.blogspot.com/2009/10/more-xs-and-s.html

Since I read 125 books this year, I feel pretty confident that I will also finish over 100 in 2010. The list of my books is always available in my sidebar and at

http://www.librarything.com/catalog/kd9

I have specific collections for 2008, 2009, and soon, 2010.

Thanks for gathering together the stitchers and readers!

Count me in for next year. I didn't make 10 books, probably because the last book I picked to read has about 500 pages, and with the holidays didn't get as much reading time as I had hoped.

Happy new year to you, Vickie!

I'm going for the gold this year. I'll include audio books in my count unless you tell me that's not OK. With audio books included I usually read about 80 books a year, so this will be a stretch for me.

I would like to take part in this, this year. It sounds like fun and I love to read. I have a bunch of books from paperbackswap.com that I have stacked to read. Great place to trade books. Take a look. I look forward in seeing how many books I can read in one year.

Count me in again. I created a new blog just for reading; you can find it at http://xsnutbooklist.blogspot.com. One post shows the books I read during the last challenge (I know there's more but I forgot to write them down). The other is the start for 2010.

Count me in. I love to read, but tend to read VERY long books, so think I'll just try for Bronze this year. I'll set up a list in my blog sidebar. Sounds like fun! Thanks for hosting.

Are audiobooks allowed as well? I would like to try for the silver. Thanks!

My 10 year old son and I are going to join your challenge. I will have to see about setting up a blog for our endeavor too!

Hi vickie! and happy new year to you and your bunch.
You can add my name to the list. So I'm guessing to sign up for the silver it means I read 50 this year. This will be a challenge, but I want to give it a try.
Thanks for the challenge!

I would love to join in this challenge. I love to read. I also listen to audio books if those count towards the total. I will try for the bronze, don't think I can make gold..lol.

I was just thinking to myself today that I need to get reading all the books I bought this year so this will be the perfect challenge for me. I'm aiming for bronze. I'll list them on my blog.

Hey a challenge for which I don't have to do anything new!
I read a ridiculous amount of books, so hitting 100 shouldn't be an issue.
I see that audiobooks are allowed. Awesome!
Do re-reads count or do they have to be books I haven't read before?

Hi! I'd love to join the book challenge. I'll probably end up with a silver, but I'm going to shoot for a gold! I really need to set up a reading blog...that might be my project for this long weekend.
