Augusta the 13th hole

I set a goal this week to finish the first page of Augusta the 13th hole. My husband mentioned it to me the other day. He was wondering how his golf picture was coming along. How could I tell him I hadn't worked on it in months. So I dug it out. I couldn't go to bed until I finished that page Friday night...I put the last stitch in at 4:30 in the morning. I was so proud of myself. Too tired to take a picture ...but better late than never. I now have 1 page of 15 finished. Only 14 more pages to go. I do think this will take awhile.
I checked all my projects and made a list of everything I need to complete. I was a little shocked!!! Here is what is in my stitching box:
Eye of the Tiger
Haed-Fairy Tales
Cherokee Child -Mystic Stitch
Augusta the 13th hole
Happiest Celebration on Earth -Disney
Cinderella from Mirabillia
Indians from Ozark Sampler - Large count fabric
Fall Cat- Fiber class project
Love -Cards
Dream- Cards
2006 Kats by Kelly
Fiber Heart Project
I also need to start my retreat fiber project and I just signed up for a really cool RR where you develop your own town. So I think I am going to be busy for a while!!!

UFO Finish - Down Main Street

Finally...I finished my Down Main Street from the Just Cross Stitch Magazine. I started this a couple of years ago. I put it away so I could work on a couple of models then I just never pulled it out again until the beginning of August. I love how it turned out. The pictures are of the whole design and then of each individual pictures.

Framed Inspirations

I finally framed my Inspirations piece. The county fair is coming up in about three weeks so I decided I better frame this piece. I decided to do the framing myself. I picked a tudor style frame to match the color of the outline which is DMC 632. The mat is a green that matches the leaves which is DMC 3053. I used some double sided tape and I have a beautifully framed piece!!! I just love it!!!!

back to school

Today was the first day back to school. It was an interesting day. It was great to see all my kids again and it felt like we never left. I didn't have that many new kids so that is good news. I seem to know everyone and what they can do. Which makes my job a little easier. I came home from school today very tired and decided to sit in my chair and cross stitch. DH was kind enough to grill chicken for dinner and to top it all off....he cleaned up the kitchen!! Very excited about that!!! I am off to stitch some more and then possibly to read a very trashy novel.

EWWW- Sour towels

This is so gross but my DH and I have been dealing with sour bath towels. I accidently left them in the washer overnight. The mildew set in and we have been trying to get rid of this smell for weeks. I poured white vinegar in my washer and ran the cycle through on hot water...then I used baking soda....bleach....vinegar and baking soda together...NOTHING WORKED my towels still SMELLED!!!
So today I did some research on the web and found some fabulous advice!!! I decided to try one home remedy. I put my washer on the hot cycle, filled it up, added my tide detergent and then I put in 1/2 box of baking soda. Let it disolve, then placed my towels in the washer. I let it aggitate for a few minutes. I then stopped the washer and let the towels soak in the tide and baking soda for one hour. After the hour was up, I ran the cycle through. Placed the towels in the dryer with 2 dryer sheets and dried them.
After they were dry....I repeated the whole process again. It took all day to do one load of laundry but guess what...IT WORKED!!!! My towels came out smelling wonderful!!!!! I am so thankful about this. I just knew I was going to have to go buy all new towels!!!!!!

Ok...enough of my gross post!!!!

Down Main Street

I dug this UFO out last week. I just loved this design for the Just Cross Stitch magazine. It was published in the 2001- Feb, April and June issues. I have stitched Tea shop and now finished up Delicious bakery. The next store is Toy Store. It has a sister piece titled Across Main street...that one is in my too be stitched pile.

I got the coolest prize in the mail from my stitching friend Kim. She sent me this beautiful cube project. The stitching is great but I am in most awe with the ribbon...I can never make mine look that great.

Brigen got up the other morning and he was in a very happy cuddley mood...As you can see he was trying to snuggle up to DH and get lots of puppy kisses.

Dog Bone Wisdom

Sometimes I think my dogs have a better life than I do! I just walked into my bedroom and my DH is tucked away sound asleep. Beside him with his head on my pillow is my chocolate lab Tusk and at the foot of the bed is my white lab Brigen. They are so spoiled. As soon as I saw this Stoney Creek design I knew I needed to stitch it for my dogs. Yes, you read that right...I stitched something for my DOGS! It will hang in the guest bathroom that is decorated with dog and cat prints. The picture doesn't do this justice and you can't read the poem very clearly. The poem reads:

"IF you can start the day without caffeine, If you can resist boring people with your troubles, if you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it, If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you and time, IF you can take criticism and blame without resentment, If you can face the world without lies and deceit, If you can say honestly that deep in your heart you have no prejudice against creed, color, religion or politics then my firends, you are almost as good as your dog"

This was a UFO I had in my UFO box It is by Stoney Creek leaflet 113 titled "Dog Bone Wisdom"

Now about me...I watched my little kia suv being towed out of my garage this morning because it wouldn't start. We think it is either the starter or altenator. So DH and I are sharing a car. That stinks!!

I went to HL today and ordered the frame and mat for Inspirations. Hopefully, everything will come in so I can get it ready for the fair.

Off to work on another UFO....I think I am either going to work on Mirabilla Cinderella or my Down Main Street piece from JCS magazines.
