Faery Tales - Small happy dance!

I have a very small happy dance going on in my house tonight. I finished page 2 of faery tales. I only have 47 more pages to go!!!! This page took one whole skein of DMC 939!! Can you believe that?? If this one page took 2 skeins, I am wondering how many I will need to finish the whole project???? Now...to start my next page. The only question I have is do I follow the patterns suggestion and move on to page 3 and stitch the beanstalk or do I move to page 10 (which goes under page one) so I can stitch Cinderella and her prince??? What would you do in this situation?

Wow, you did fly through this page!! If you want to start stitching under this page I say go for it!! I would do whatever I wanted. Especially if the page below was more interesting to you.

No, no, no, Vicki. I fear that you might lose interest in returning to the background later on. But if you're self-disciplined enough for that not to be a factor, a change of scenery might be a good idea. I think I'd plod through all that background, then celebrate when it was behind me. I love this chart that you're working. Good luck.

it is looking wonderful Vickie!!!! Not sure which page I would choose to do next!!! Both sound like they could be interesting!

I say reward yourself and move on to the page you really want to do... after that, then go back to the page you seem to feel might be a little more "boring". Congratulations on finishing page 2 so quickly!

I say do Cinderella and her prince. It is your project and you should do what interests you. :)

It is looking lovely, by the way. I'm impressed.

I think you should be doing a big happy dance! That is a lot of stitching, and it looks wonderful. As for what to stitch next I would pick the one you like the most.

Do a little on each page!!! One day on the one, one day on the other! Looking lovely though!

congrats on finishing page 2 - I always move across the page on my HAED's.

Looks great, well done. I'd go for Cinderella as a treat and a change from scenery.

When doing something bigger I always start in a corner then work across page by page before starting on the next row of pages, but that's just me.
Looks pretty amazing by the way, I've got a few HAEDs waiting to be started, but I figure I ought to finish the other three I'm working on first!

Wow, what an accmplishment and you have 47 pages to go. I say start where ever you please when a project is that big so you don't lose interest.

Great Job!!

Very nice looking piece Vickie! I would say stitch whatever your heart is content to stitch on. You have plenty of time to go back and pick up page 3 and stitch on it when you are wanting some mindless stitching cause it sounds like you'll have plenty of DMC939 to work with then. Do you have all the 939 bought already? I was just thinking about the dye lots sometimes being different and you can usually tell mostly with dark colors.

looking good. I think I would stitch the bean stalk.

I don't know which way to tell you to go, but I do have to say that I'm just in awe of this. Wow, that's a lot of DMC 939 - didn't they give you any indication in the key as to how many skeins you would need?

This is something. Good luck.

Are you doing a small project to break up the time?

Looks great! I say get the boring bits out of the way first and keep Cindy as a reward.

this is progressing very nicely and quickly! Just stunning to look at.
There are pros and cons to both ways of progressing through the project...although page three (background work I believe) can get rather hum drum with little variation; but when finished the relief is great. Working on page 10 while being varied and can revive the pleasure; knowing you must then go back to finish the background could seem disheartening. I loved the idea of working between the two....keeping things fresh and seeing it build from both angles. Whichever way you decide (it is your project and you will make the right decision for you) I look very forward to seeing it come alive.
