I'm Going to Disney!!!! and Sistine Chapel Update!

Here is the latest on my Sistine Chapel!  I am 1.7% completed with it!!

I was talking to my husband about a conversation I had with his dad about what they were building at Disney.  He said, you didn't go last year did you? I told him no....  So, He asked me if I wanted to go to Disney as a reward for my weightloss. Of course, I said yes!! I have always wanted to go to Disney at Christmas time but he has to work.  He told me to take my mom and we are going  to go for New Years Eve!  I am so thrilled!!!  As you can see, I have a ticker on my blog that tells me just how long I have until I see the castle again!!

Weightloss:
I stepped on the scale this morning and I was down to 133.8.  I have officially worked off 15 lbs today!!!!  I put on a skirt to go to church this morning and it was too big!  I then pulled out a pair of pants that I haven't worn in a year because I was too fat to squeeze into them.  I put them on and the fit perfect!!!  So happy!!!!!     I have reached the halfway point and just 15 more pounds until I reach my goal!!!!!!!

HAED - Last Judgement and Hot Air Balloon update

This weeks rotation was my Last Judgement design. I have put in 2,000 into and I love the colors.  As you can see from the design below, I still have a long way to go....

My current car project is my Hot Air Balloon design.  I know this is a HAED but the whole top part is exactly 3 colors.  The main color is 939 so it is the same color for all the stitches in a 10 x 10 block.  So it is really easy to stitch at a stoplight or when I stuck in traffic.

Mill Hill Finish - and Weight loss

Spring break has been this week and I was trying to figure out what to stitch.  I finally decided to work on a Mill Hill kit.  It wasn't up in my rotation but they take so long to stitch, I decided to change things up.  This one is titled "Queen Anne House".  I just love how it turned out!!  I only have 14 more buildings to stitch in my rotation.  It is stitched on blue Jazlyn opalescent fabric.

Weight:

I haven't posted about my weightloss in a long time.  I got frustrated because I hit a plateau and nothing I did worked.  I was stuck between 135-139.  So, I kinda took a break, still watched what I ate and I watched the scale go up and then down.  I made a deal with myself that at spring break I was going to start dieting again.  I  restarted my couch to 5K workout last week and then continued on this week.  I have counted every calorie, watched my sugar, and started eating negative calorie foods as a snack. I stopped drinking my large sweet teas from Sonic which was difficult.  I have allowed my self a cup or two of Chocolate Hot tea with a couple of sugar cubes...so today when I weighed, I found I was at 134.4 and when I started on Monday, I was at 138!!!  So it is working!

Lots of Stitching and Advice needed

Faery Tales by HAED was this weeks rotation.  I put in 1,020 stitches in for this rotation.  You can see the full product on top and the close up of my stitching below it.

I have decided that Sunday's will be my Sistine Chapel day.  My goals is to finish 20% of this project by December 31st.  Right now I am a 1.5%  I think I have a ways to go!!!!  Here is the start of page 3.

Doesn't Bert look so sweet and innocent???  Think again.  This cat has brought in 3 baby copperhead snakes into our house!!!!!!!  1 was dead, 1 was dying on the floor and the other was in his mouth still wiggling!  Mark went out today and we think we have found the baby den.  Bert has gone out 5 times today and nothing has come back in with him....so fingers crossed.

This is how I spent my Saturday night.  I had to move my Mill Hill Beads from my Tacky bob to my bead holders. It is very boring, tedious and sticky.  I actually ran out of bead holders so I had to order more off Ebay.  Up next in my rotation is another Mill Hill kit.  Since I am on break this week, I can actually finish it in a week instead of two or three!

Advice needed:
I have several Disney ornaments to finish.  I am not sure how I want to finish them.  Anyone have an ornament finishing method they LOVE and would like to suggest?

Sistine Chapel Page 2 - Completed

I have worked on my Sistine Chapel this week.  I finished page 2 of 347!!!!  Love how it is looking!  I find that once get started on a page I just can't stop.  It is fun to stitch!  The only thing I don't like, is that almost every symbol is a blended thread.  If you are scratching your head on what  a blended thread is, it is where you have one strand of two different colors that are stitched together.  You can't use the loop start with this method.

I am working on a RR project right now for my friend Berly.  This is surprise themed RR where you pick a theme and everyone who stitches picks a design they like. When you get your RR theme home, you are surprised at what everyone has stitched for you.   She wanted everyone to stitch kitchen towels for her.   I would love to show what I am stitching but it is a surprise.

Summer Ball update and a new pet of sorts....

As you know, Tusk still has a hurt leg.  The vet finally decided that he didn't develop the scar tissue they had hoped so he will be having surgery on March 14th.  Please remember my furbaby in your prayers.  Now, since he has been hurt, we have to out the front door to potty.   We found we have a new member to our home.  The beautiful red bird has made her nest in the inside archway of our door.  She just sits there watching us as we come out and then go back in...

This weeks rotation was Summer Ball by Sandy Littlejohns and Deborah Lester.  This has been a UFO and last year I wanted to finish it when I was finishing all my other UFO"s...but I just got tired of it.  So it now back in the rotation.

This is page 5 that has given me fits!!!!  I have made several mistakes on this page and have had to do some frogging along with creative stitching.  I Love how it is turning out.  It is 77.8% finished!

Next up should be my Sistine chapel but is the Mystic Stitch SAL weekend, and I am working on my Victorian Winter design!  I can't wait!
