Lots of Stitching and Advice needed

Faery Tales by HAED was this weeks rotation.  I put in 1,020 stitches in for this rotation.  You can see the full product on top and the close up of my stitching below it.

I have decided that Sunday's will be my Sistine Chapel day.  My goals is to finish 20% of this project by December 31st.  Right now I am a 1.5%  I think I have a ways to go!!!!  Here is the start of page 3.

Doesn't Bert look so sweet and innocent???  Think again.  This cat has brought in 3 baby copperhead snakes into our house!!!!!!!  1 was dead, 1 was dying on the floor and the other was in his mouth still wiggling!  Mark went out today and we think we have found the baby den.  Bert has gone out 5 times today and nothing has come back in with him....so fingers crossed.

This is how I spent my Saturday night.  I had to move my Mill Hill Beads from my Tacky bob to my bead holders. It is very boring, tedious and sticky.  I actually ran out of bead holders so I had to order more off Ebay.  Up next in my rotation is another Mill Hill kit.  Since I am on break this week, I can actually finish it in a week instead of two or three!

Advice needed:
I have several Disney ornaments to finish.  I am not sure how I want to finish them.  Anyone have an ornament finishing method they LOVE and would like to suggest?

Vickie, You're making great progress on your stitching. As to your question, there are lots of finishing ideas here: http://tts-learntofinish.blogspot.com/2010/12/special-shaped-ornament-finishing-and.html

Your stitching is making good progress. Eww on the snakes. I like the flat ornament technique.

Everything looks great!!! Wish I could give you some advice on ornament finishing, but I don't make them very often so I don't really have a favorite finishing technique.

Everything looks great! Your cat is so useful - he's ridding you of snakes!!! Hummm on the ornies - depends on the size but I've done some that are really small (like 1 x 2" size) and I just wrap the fabric around some cardboard cut to size then glue that to some felt - I can embellish or not.

everything looks great Vickie! as always!!!
We are at the 'looking for' stage of an outdoor cat for the very reason you shared....we don't want those kind of critters outside here...we don't see a lot of snakes, but the chipmunks are awful & so destructive!
I agree with Patty about ornaments. If they are small enough, the cardboard felt method is great!

You are making great progress Vickie. Oh yuck on the snakes. Wish I could help with the ornaments but I'm clueless when it comes to finishing.

Wow! Your kitty sure is a hunter! Faery Tales looks fantastic. You certainly have a lot of HUGE projects listed in your side bar! Your goal of 20% for Sistine Chapel sounds very possible!

All your stitching looks great! My "go to" ornie finishing is the small pillow type. It's easy and quick for me. I like that I can vary the trims that I stitch around the edge and the hanger as I choose.

I like doing the flat ornament finishing the best... like the class I did at the retreat. I can put any type of border around it... beading, ric-rac, cording, lace. I can never seem to get the pillow ornaments to look good enough.

Lovely stitching! And I am sure you can make your goal with the Sistine Chapel if you stick with it.

As for ornament finishing, I find the quickest way is to sew them up on the sewing machine. But the way I like best to to stretch the front and the back separately over thin-ish cardboard covered in foam (and a layer of neutral fabric over the foam on the front), glue them together and then finish the edge with cording.
