Sistine Chapel is No More!!!

So tonight I was working on my Sistine Chapel.  I had decided to start a new section to see if I could fix the mistake I made on the last section.   As you know, I had emailed the designer and her response was "Focus on ensuring the adjacent scenes are aligned and it'll work itself out with the background."   As a math teacher, I just can't do that.  It has to add up for me and all be equal!!!  If you look at the first picture,  this is as far as I got before I made the decision to stop.

See the pink section all by itself?   The open space to the below it should be 18 squares however, mine is only 15!!!!  I don't know where I went wrong.   I have decided that as much as I loved stitching this pattern, I am done!  I like things to add up when I do counted cross stitch!

I felt a huge relief when I made this decision.  I am going to happily work on my other UFO's and to start making a dent in my collection.  What do you think of my decision???  Would you continue working on it or just say, I am done!

As you know, Christmas is coming and I do sell Thirty-One products!!!  We have some wonderful stocking stuffers for $20 and under if you are needing some personalized gifts!!!

I would have kept stitching but that's because I need to finish what I start lol. If that decision works for you then go for it!...or not as the case may be ;)

Oh dear. I know how you feel. I had to put down a project for awhile the last time I frogged tons of it. Hopefully with time (and tons of patience) you can get this one back. :-)

I was told once that if you are not loving the project you're working on to either stop and go back later, or just stop all together and either give it away or sell it as a UFO. If you don't love it, you won't want to go back and will consider it a chore.
That said, it's a beautiful project - maybe you can find it a good home!

If its stressing you out, then by all means put it to the side. Maybe if you put it away for awhile, when you pull it out again, you'll figure it out! {{{Hugs}}}

Maybe take a break but you have to finish. This is such a beautiful piece. I have started it but havent gotten as far as you.

Don't feel bad about your decision...it was a MASSIVE project. There is always the smaller HAED version if you liked the pattern and you're probably better guaranteed that there will be less errors. Better you found out now than when you were really far along!

I would put it away and come back to it later.

A mistake in a project that size also would not bother me, and I tend to be a perfectionist when it comes to crafts.

Oh don't give up Vickie. If its not going to mess up the design, I would keep going. If it is going to mess up the design, than I would scrap it. Or, going back to it after the holidays.

I know how much you wanted to do the Sistine Chapel piece, but I agree with you about giving up on it. If it is causing you frustration you are only going to end up hating working on it in the end. There is nothing wrong with quitting a project. I have done it myself several times.
