Year of starts week 8 and a finish!!!!

Hi Everyone!! I truly hope you had a great stitchy week.  I was able to do all my starts and even have a small finish!!!!   Things here have been busy as usual.  I am halfway finished with my college class and so ready for spring break!!!   Next week, we are going to dining in the dark again!!!  A local restaurant has a nigh where they dim the lights, place a blindfold on you and you enjoy a 4 course dinner!!  It is so much fun!  They do tell you where things are located when they bring the plate.  You can also take off your blindfold if it freaks you out!!!

Did I tell you that Tiger Lily has started going out the doggie door?  She loves being outside and it is driving me nuts!

This week I have to start homebound services for a student who just can't make it in school. So I get to meet with them for hours a week at the local public library to work on all their studies.  It is extra money but it makes my days really, really long!!!!

On to Stitching:
Check out Faery Tales!!  I just have about 2000 stitches before I am finished with page 23!!!

Look at my little finish!  it is a Mill Hill penguin!  Isn't he just the cutest???  I didn't do such a great job cutting him out but I like him!!

Year of Starts week 7 with a finish!!!!

It's Sunday and I am posting!!!!   Thank you for all your well wishes with me passing my test.  I am so thrilled!  Tomorrow is my 44th birthday.  My family is taking me to Olive Garden for dinner which I am excited about!  The flu is running rampant in my school and I have been sending students to the nurse right and left.  I have such a week immune system this year that I stayed home on Friday.  I slept all afternoon.

It seems the consensus is that borders count as starts....so I will stitch them as they come along.  I have a finish to show!!!!   I finished the January portion of the Cloudsfactory Fabulous Women SAL. I need to add some beads to the chandelier. I gave Mrs. Roosevelt's chair an extra leg.  The pattern didn't call for it but it looked  strange with only 1 leg.  Now I need to start February's (that will be this next week!!!)

I was smart this week....before I put a project up this week, I took a picture of it!!!!

Here are my starts:

A whole new world part 2

Disney Dreams Cinderella ornament 2 - Lucifer

Mill Hill Village:  Clock Shoppe

Mill Hill Village: Through the Woods
.

I restarted my Stitchy Box Quaker Cakes:  The designer created this border after I had started so I just changed the fabric.  I am stitching the outer border in Carrie Creations: Blue Berry Pie.  The individual Cake borders are with a thread that is in the cake.

Mill Hill Village:  Village Bakery

Brookes Books: February cupcake  (the 2nd one)

That is my starts for this week!   I have some new stash that I want to show you so I will post those later this week.  I really have to stop saying "Me Please" on the stash unload.  I figure I can say it until my husband says "enough cross stitch shopping this month"  We will see when that happens!!!! LOL!!!

week 5 and 6 of year of starts!

I will get this weekly update down soon!!!  Let's start off with amazing news!!! I PASSED MY TEST!!!! I scored a 162 and the minimum score was 155!!!  I am so thrilled!! I really didn't want to pay another $120 to take a test because I failed the first one!  I am jumping for joy!!!

Loving my year of starts!!!  I finally told my husband what I was doing and he thought I was freaking insane.  Those were his exact words!  His other sentence was "you will have 365 projects started????  Do you have 365 projects???"  If he only knew!! LOL!!!

Tiger Lily has learned to use the doggie door so she is now going outside with Bert.  I am not happy!!! I actually spend 15 minutes chasing her down in the yard!!!

Year of starts:  I only work 30 minutes on a project a day then move to something else.  My goal is actually finish Faery Tales... I have  pages left to go!

Opinions needed: Several of my Year of Starts projects have borders.  Do you consider me stitching the borders ahead of time as starting the project or is it ok to stitch the borders???

Bert had to help me sort floss for my Disney Dreams Chart

Heinzeit:  Merry Christmas

Mill Hill Penguin

Mill Hill Village:  Post office

February Window.  I spent some time on the border for January  This is one of those borders...the whole project has the fancy border around it and each month has the little border.

That is it!!!  Another 14 projects for my year of starts!!!
