Cinderella Update

WOW!! What a week. The first week of school is always crazy and this year was no exception. I have been busy getting to know my kids and what skills I need to be teaching this year!!
I recieved another model in the mail and this one has to be stitched quick!! I have been working on it all week. This weekend however, I took a small break and worked on my Cinderella piece by Mirabillia. It looks good on the blue fabric.
Today was Isaac's birthday we went bowling. I bowled terrible...all the little kids beat me!! To make matters worse...there were the bumpers up there to stop the balls from going in the gutter!! Talk about embarrassing.
Off to bed...it is late and I have to work tomorrow.

Weird Mood

Have you ever just had one of those weeks when you don't want to stitch, read or answer emails? That has been my week. I can only stitch for so long because my finger is still sore and tingly. It makes it uncomfortable. I don't want to read right now and I am not sure why because usually I LOVE to read. I look at all my group emails and think WOW..I should really answer those.

I am not sure why I am in this mood...could be because I am worried about this upcoming school year and everthing it brings. Usually, In my subjects I have the state frameworks to use as guidelines on what I should cover in the year...but my curriculum doesn't have that so I have to judge what is exactly best for my kids and I think that is a lot of pressure.

I have done some stitching and bought new fabric!!! OH MY! I picked up the fabric for my Inspiration piece I am starting in Oct. The picture doesn't do it justice...the color is actually closer to DMC 758 (kinda peachy). The other picture is the progress I have made on EEyore....He is looking good.
Off to bed.. Tomorrow is the first official day of school!

Inspiration piece

YES!! I sent Sara my fabric order for this piece and she emailed me today that she has is cut and waiting on me. I decided to go with a Lugana fabric called "Coral Reef". I am so excited!! We are starting a SAL on this piece on Oct 1st.

I have been just stitching away on my Eeyore blanket. I truely hope to finish him soon. I think I will work on him all weekend too. I plan on staying home and doing nothing!!!!

I have been getting my classroom ready and I tell you...this new class I have is going to be tougher than I thought. Not sure exactly what I will be teaching them. I have some ideas and plans but I won't know for sure until I get into the class with them to see what skills we have.
I watched Big Brother tonight and I hope America does the right thing and vote Dick out! I really do not like him!!!!

Back to school

Today was the official first day back to school!!! We had faculty meetings today. Tomorrow we get to work with our departments. It was so hot here today..over 101° ..the poor dogs were so hot Mark had to come home and let them in for the rest of the day! I think tomorrow I will just leave them in the house!!

On the stitching note, I have really been stitching on my Eeyore blanket. I think with my hurt finger,...this is an easier piece to stitch on. I hope to finish it soon!

Gingerbread Finish

I finished my Gingerbread house!!! I started this at Camp Stitch in July and I think it turned out GREAT!!! It was stitched on large count cloth- wither 9 or 10 count I think....The design is from Ozark Samplers. Unfortuantely I don't think she is going to release it....I think it will be with one of her clubs. I love it! I just need to get one more button..a xmas wreath to hang on the front door. I think that will look great!!!

Brigen is sick

Poor Brigen...He caught Kennel Cough while staying at the kennel while Mark and I were in KC. He sounds like he has something caught in his throat...Mark calls it smokers cough. The vet did give him a compliment while we were in his office. He said that Brigen was a very well behaved dog and he wished everyone behaved as well as he did!! Brigen is currently on antibotics and cough medicine. The cough medicine is too strong I think because he is very sleepy. I called the emergency vets office tonight and the on-call vet said it was like a human taking Benadryll...just medicine head.

I worked on Mystic Stitch last week...here is what I have finished on it so far. Not much else to say.

Debbie Draper Finish

This is a new Debbie Draper design that she designed for my LNS, The Busy Needle in Rogers, AR. She told us about this design at Camp stitch. It was stitched on 28ct linen using Ozark Samplers Floss: Lobster. The design required 2 skeins along with a charm package (optional) to finish up the design.
I wasn't sure if I could have posted this but I talked to Sara today and she said that if you do want to purchase this design the only way is to make a donation to the Diabetes fundraiser the LNS hosts every year. Here is more info on it... http://www.thebusyneedle.com/_wsn/page2.html
I am very proud of this finish!!!!
