Crazy Stitching Week!!!!

I was so excited this week because I thought I was going to be starting a new project - Preening Pixie.  However, it didn't happen like I thought.  I did start it...but HATED the fabric I picked for it.  It made me miserable to stitch on so I stopped.  I had picked a 32 count linen and I hate linen.  I have no idea why I thought this would be a good idea...so I decided to dye my own fabric for this piece.  I got some teal rit dye along with what I thought was dark blue. However, it was actually a dark green.  This is what I came up with and started stitching on it...I don't like it!!!!  so this piece it put away until I find just the right fabric!!!!!!

This is what the design will look like when finished so I think the fabric should be some type of dark blue.  What so you think?

So I pulled out my Lavender and Lace Santa of the Forest.  I kept working on Santa's beard.  This beard is very detailed!!!!!  I am changing this up a bit by using gold beads for his staff.  I think that will really make it pop!!!!

This will be the final product.

My brother knows I have been trying to get back in shape and lose about 30 lbs.  He ask me to join him in this 5k obstacle mud run.  I am getting out of my comfort zone and agreed!!!!  I think I am insane but on May 23, 2015 I will be voluntarily running in the mud!!!!

Bert update...he has brought in 2 dead snakes one non-poisonous snake and 1 baby copperhead!!!  That cat is going to drive me nuts!!!!!

I agree with you blue is the best color for your pixie. Have fun running in the mud. Gotta love cats!!

What about frogging the little bit and getting dark blue dye to make a mottled blue/teal/green color?

The mud obstacle sounds like fun. Good luck!

OMG mud? Yes princess you have totally lost it. You are only going to find frogs in the mud. I can't believe you agreed to do it. Some Snakes also like mud but don't tell Burt otherwise he'll join you.

Dark blue or a deep purple would work. The teal clashed with green skirt. I am no expert on linen but I really like to see and feel it before I buy it. There are huge differences in linen. Some I hate and others I am just fine with.

I feel your pain with the linen...I hate it as well but, for some stupid reason, I keep buying it for projects because it's usually SOOO pretty!

I had one of those weeks recently. Mine was starting and finding out I was missing a blending filament. I'm not fond of linen either but I don't mind other evenweaves.

I think a blue color would be the best also, but not to dark. Good luck with the Mud Run!

Wonderful progress Vickie. I think I would go with a blue fabric on Tinkerbell.
