AWH Page Finish and Whining.....

Happy Dance!  Happy Dance!!!   I finished page 2 of A Wintery Heriloom!!!  Talk about being excited, now I only have 22 pages left.
As most of you can see that I haven't been posting much.  I really have just wanted to go into hiding.  Have you ever felt this way?  I thought when I got out of the behavior room, my school year would be so much better.  However, these past 2 weeks have been so stressful that I have gained all 7 lbs I lost plus 3 more.  I come home from work and just sit and stare.  I play on pinterst and read.  That is it.  I don't feel like doing much.  I have a couple of parents that in the education world are known as "That Parent"  These parents are very demanding and expecting me to cater to their every whim and if I don't do what they think I should do then they go directly to my supervisor and it becomes a circus.  I have a parent who is demanding an apology from me because I told her daughter she was rude.  She was assured it would hurt her self-esteem.  My question is, "How do you know you are being rude if someone doesn't tell you?"
I had a student tell me this week that his dad told him he couldn't do my project that I assigned at the end of spring break in March, because it was too hard. REALLY???  Here is the project:  Each student is to create 3 one page posters (normal printer paper) about 3 jobs they would like to have after High School.  Realistic jobs, not superstars etc. They have to include: name of job, salary, education needed, skills needed, room for advancement and a picture of the job.  This is too hard??? REALLY??????

Done Whining...today I spent in my sewing room making 12 personalized pillowcases for my seniors!!!!  I hope they will like them!

I definitely have those parents too. There's no getting around them, unfortunately. Of course we're almost done with the year and now, suddenly, they care about their kids' grades, etc.

Great work on the page finish!

Losing weight is tough, it's not just about following a diet plan it's a mental challenge as well. Don't see it as a failure that you've put on weight, it's one of those things that happens. When you are ready, just put it to one side and start again. Don't think that this is a reason to give up and that you've blown it, it's just one of those set backs that we have.

Whining is essential, it's healthy to get it off your chest so whine away!

Hope that things improve and again, well done with the stitching!

Hi Vickie,

oh I can understand your mood. My DH is a teacher like you and he has also trouble with 'these parents'.
How old are your pupils?
He must now learn - by therapy- that this doesn't bother him too much.
May be that a therapist can help you also, before you'll getting ill- like my DH.
Take care of yourself.
For me it is a real help to chill in those bad moments-
I do nice stitching (happy patterns)
Nevertheless, Enjoy your weekend and good power for next week.
Love
Judith (ILCS)

Ok, you already heard my views on the rudeness - MOM needs to be spanked. As far as Dad and the homework assignment goes - Puhlease!! What's he going to do when his precious has to really go find and keep a job?? Don't sweat over it, it's not worth it. Stitching looks marvelous as usual!

Congrats on your page finish.

Ummm... posters? And that's too hard? I had to do an entire written report in 8th grade about a career I was interested in. That Dad needs to be biffed on the head! Maybe the kid was lying?

I wouldn't have a teaching job for all the money in the world now days when I went to school if you didn't do what the teacher said you were also in trouble at home now you don't do what the teacher says and the parent agrees with the kid thank goodness someone trys to work with them but not me I would be in jail with no job if I was a teacher today go ahead and whine Sincerely Kathy

beautiful stitching :D

I know what you mean about parents. I just had a parent yesterday tell me off for singing the rainbow song because there is no PURPLE in the rainbow. (they're also in the wrong order) WHO CARES? It's the only rainbow song I know! The child is four.

But what can you do I'm only teaching what i was told to teach.

I'm sorry you're dealing with parental problems, Vickie. You'd think they would be encouraging their children to try, not telling them it's too hard. And your Wintry Heirloom looks fabulous. Hope you get the stitching mojo back soon. It sucks without it!!!
