Preening Pixie update

I was in a Disney mood this week so I pulled out my Preening Pixie design.  The first design is where I left off on it last November...

Here is my progress this week.  I know backstitching is important because it makes the design pop.  However, I don't like backstitching  I think this is one of the reason I lean towards HAEDs and Mystic stitch design.   They may be huge but NO back stitching!   I love how the curve of the mirror is appearing.

I have been working on my  Wintery Heirloom on Fridays.  This design is beautiful but dear lord there is so much confetti stitching when I am working on the trees!!!!!   The design has lots of trees!!!  I just have to tell myself that with every stitch I am getting closer to being finished!

I realized I forgot to do a post last week and Last week Faery Tales was up in the rotation  It was a confetti week from HADES.  I am not lying!   Red Riding hood was nothing but confetti stitching!!!  I was ready to pull my hair out.   I keep telling myself this is going to be gorgeous when finished so I am suffering through the confetti.

Faery Tales 51.5%

Here is a weird confession from me and I hope I am not the only one who does this!  As you know i have 3 labradors weighing from 80 to 90 lbs. each.  They are big cuddlers. Gibbs has slept inbetween my husband and I since he learned to jump on the bed.  If there isn't room, he makes room.  Brigen likes to sleep at my feet and Tusk sleeps where ever he can find a spot.   Here lately, I haven't been sleeping well in bed.   I know it is because the dogs wake me up and have literally pushed me out of the bed!!!!

I have found I sleep better on my couch!!!  If I sleep on the couch, there isn't room for anyone to sleep beside me.  I don't have to hear all the boys (hubby included) snoring and tossing/turning.   It is just me an sometimes Bert sleeping sound.   I have always wondered if I am the only one who finds sleeping on the couch relaxing.

That is my weird confession!!!

Great progress on all your pieces. Pixie is coming along beautifully. Wow I'm not surprised you find it difficult to sleep. We only have a kitty that sleeps on our bed and he sometimes keeps me from sleeping well.

I should clarify, he steals the blankets or stretches out so I'm perched on the edge of the bed.

What wonderful progress on your projects! I always admire stichers who dare to tackle HEADs - I certainly couldn't do it:) I have three dogs too but luckily they've learnt to lie in the bed in ways that doesn't disturb me too much:) Also I might add that two of them are smaller breeds who don't take up too much space lol.

Wow lots and lots of progress. Beautiful work on all of them. I have a small dog but she sleeps on my pillow! Sometimes I get no space at all for my head. So I understand your pain. Most nights we work it out but boy sometimes she just refuses to let me sleep.

For months I couldn't sleep because my left hip has gone bad and I sleep on my left hip. In January I had a total hip replacement. I still can't sleep because of the foot long incision. It has been months since I slept more than 2 hours at a time. I get my best sleep in the la-z-boy recliner.

Great progress! I often sleep on the couch and I only share a bed with a 10lb Shih-Tzu (although he can still push me off the bed for some reason). I actually feel safer sleeping closer to the front door. Come to think of it, I slept on the couch a lot when I was married too (but that was for a different reason!).

I used to love sleeping on the couch and then it was just old and needed to go. The one now isn't that comfy for sleeping so Im back to the bed.

Awesome progress on all of your gorgeous projects Vickie. I have 6 cats that sleep in bed and sometimes I wish I had somewhere else to sleep.

Nice progress on your WIPs. Tinkerbell is adorable!

I sleep alone, but I find I sleep a lot better in my recliner. My back doesn't hurt when I wake up!

Lol I like sleeping on the couch too but hubby gets lonely so he doesn't let me. I don't have big puppies pushing me out though. I love Labradors and I'm sure it won't be long until we get one. Awesome stitching I love how tink is turning out!

We used to have a basset hound and when he was young enough he'd jump up on the bed and get between us, stretch out horizontally and we'd be accommodating him in our sleep. So we'd wake up with about 2 feet of bed each, and this 50 pound dog had the rest of the king bed all to himself.

Excellent progress and hope the confetti gets easier!
