Have you ever...

read a book and just wanted to slap a character? When I read a Lisa Gardener book there is always a character or two that I want to reach in and just smack some sense into them! I can't help it, they just drive me nuts. This past month I listened to a Lisa Gardner novel and the feeling just overtook me again!!!
Say Goodbye -
Kimberely Quincey is an FBI agent who happens to be pregnant and gets herself involved in a serial killer case. She gets a phone call in the middle of the night about a hooker that insists she talks to Kimberely. This is where I want to start slapping the agent. The choices she made in this book just annoyed me. Don't get me wrong...I LOVED the book!!!! I also loved the storyline even though it involved spiders and they give me the heebie-jeebies!!!! I do recommend reading it however, it is VERY graphic and can be gory at times. I did find myself cringing and fast-forwarding at some parts.

Waiting for Mr. Darcy

I am a sucker for any book that mentions Mr. Darcy!! As you can see the cover makes you think you are going to be reading a period piece. I was happy to see that this is a modern day romance novel. It follows the lives of 3 very different 40 something women. This book will make you laugh out loud and VERY hungry. Alicia is a TV chef and the food she talks about just makes your mouth drool! Her friendships with Lauren and Gabby just captivate you with their laughter and tears.

I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone especially anyone who believes you can find love at any age.

Yoga- Page 1

I finished page 1 of the Yoga piece tonight. I made myself sit down and finish it. I have to say I have been avoiding working on this week. It has taken 3 days to do 400 stitches.

School is out in 8 days!!! I am so excited. Everyone is tired of school and ready to be finished. I made my Math class very excited today. I explained to them I was giving them their very LAST homework assignment for the year. Unfortuantley for them, it happened to be a 51 problem study guide but, they were happy to hear that was the last assignment for the year.

I have been very remiss in not posting my book finishes. Over the weekend I will be posting everyday the books I read in April and the books I have read so far this month. So be on the lookout!!!

LOOK WHAT I MADE!!!

Ok..so I didn't actually make the T-Shirt...I did put the design on the front though! I have been planning my Disney trip and I have become obsessed with the Creative People on my Disney message board. They can make the coolest things!! I had one of them make this design and I printed it out on transfer paper with my printer, and ironed it on! I LOVE how it turned out!!!!

I am going to enlist my sister to help me make the other shirts.

Gibbs went to the bet today to get his stitches out and we found out he has an infection so he still has to take antibotics. UGH!!! I came home today and found that he had been digging in the dirt. It was the bringing the mud from his digging and putting it on my Glass Patio doors. so they are now very muddy. Silly puppy.

Today was the last day with Seniors. IT was very sad to see some of them go and a couple I will say I was saying "Goodbye...don't come back" I know as a teacher that is terrible to say but sometimes you are excited to see them go because they have driven you crazy the whole year!!!!!

Scarecrow Pants and Stick

Wow...that title sounds DIRTY!!! HEE HEE!! I have been around teenagers WAY to long!! I am stitching the model for Mary's 3-foot scarecrow design. I put the final stitches in part one tonight. I like the colors of the patch. They are just so springy!!

Today was the last day for the seniors. I have to say it was the LONGEST day of the year..it always is! The seniors are bouncing off the walls. I was sad to see them go. One of my seniors stopped by 4 different times to get 4 hugs. I have had him on my caseload since he was a sophomore. I do make sure I give Sidehugs...got to be careful these days. I am very proud of this kid....to be honest I wasn't sure he would graduate. It has been a LONG, BUMPY ride!!!

Senior finals tomorrow and Friday...then Graduation on the 22nd!!!

.My Disney vacation is getting closer and closer!!!

Historical Fashions

I have started another couple. As you can see it is just the man only right now. The woman for this couple is wearing a VERY fluffy dress!!! I have a feeling it is going to take a while to stitch this one.

Spring is definitely here in AR!! We have had nothing but rain, tornado watches, and muggy weather. I will be glad when summer is finally here and all we have is the heat.

Tomorrow is the last day with my seniors. I am happy they are graduating but I am sad because I do love my seniors. I will miss them!!

Decoration day

Yesterday was decoration day at the cemetary. I went to visit my grandma and grandpa Jones grave in the morning. My grandparents passed in 1992/1994. I miss them terribly. We also stopped by my aunts and had lunch. It was fun to sit and visit with the cousins.
Yesterday Afternoon we went to my grandfathers for a visit. We also went to my grandmothers grave. She is the one who passed in August and I hadn't been to her grave since August. It was so hard to pull in and walk over to her grave. I just started crying. I miss my grandmother so much and it was just hard to visit her grave. We did have some laughs because my uncle has already placed his tombstone by my grandparents and he is only 53 years old. I just laughed at him and told him it how strange it was for him to be standing here while I was looking at his tombstone...just weird!!!!
My sister will be home from New Delhi in three days!!! She wants to get a taco, burrito, hamburger and a grilled cheese. She doesn't want to look at chicken the entire time she is home....guess she eats a lot of chicken over there!!! HEE HEE!!!!!

Ozark Sampler 2010 SAL

This SAL is my car project. If you are scratching your head, going car project what is that??? A car project is what I keep in my car to work on while I am at a stop light, sitting in bumper to bumper traffic when it isn't moving...basically, anytime I am stuck in the car.

I stitched the Green border at home sitting comfortably in my rocking chair. I completed the Backstitching, puple border, gold border and blue chain in my car. They were very simply designs and I didn't have to look at the pattern except for the corners. As you can see all I have left is the purple border and the rest of the blue border. I do plan on backstitching this desing, however, I am going to do that while I am at Disney. I figure I can backstitch on the plane and in my room. I won't have to bring much except for black thread.

It has been a very tiring weekend and emotional weekend. I am too tired to post about it tonight, I will post tomorrow. There were lots of tears today......Nothing bad happend....just sad.

peace and quiet....NOT

I pulled out the Yoga piece and worked on it this week. As you can see I have finished one column and 3 rows of page one. Even though this isn't my favorite design, it does look pretty good.

My friend Becki and I went aournd to different quilt stores today. I was asking if I could leave brocheres for the Conkerr Pillowcases and if some stores would be drop off locations. The Rabbits lair and Village Mountain quilts are both drop off locations now. They also said that they would love to tell their quilters about it. I did buy some fabric for the quilts.

Gibbs had surgery this week. His bark is a little higher than it was last week. He is now neutered and had his dew claws removed. For the past few days he has been wearing really cute ankle bracelots that were orange/blue camaflauged. He wasn't too happy with them and he expressed this by chewing off his bandages. Even with bitters being sprayed on them..he ate them!! Silly Puppy!!!!

One month until my vacation!!!! I can't wait!!!

Historical Fashions Couple # 7

I just love this design! This is the 7th couple I have stitched and only 6 more to go!!! I had lots of trouble with this couple. I actually had to restart it twice but I think it was worth it.

I have also been working on my Yoga piece. It is coming along slowly but surely. I have to admit that the colors are pretty boring but this is the design my sister wants so I am stitching it.

I have been sick this week! I actually missed two days of school. My voice was gone and the not breathing part really part got to me.Mark was great...he brought me home take out each night so I didn't have to cook. What a good husband I have!!!
